Globe amaranth also known as ‘Makhamali Phool’ or ‘Supari to Phool’ in Nepali. This flower  is used to make garland during the celebration of ‘Bhai Tika’ which is observed on the last day of Tihar (Diwali) festival. This garland is put around the brother’s neck by their sister for protection against untimely death and for long life.

This flower is long lasting and retain its colour and shape after drying.
